Project Engineer (UK)

We are looking for a Project Engineer to support the planning, installation and commissioning of parking systems projects.

What you will do

Working at customer sites across the country, your key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing project objectives in line with project proposals and plans
  • Installing and commissioning car park equipment
  • Interpreting customer requirements during project implementation and communicating changes requirements to the Project Manager
  • Investigating faults including collection of and dissemination of relevant diagnostic information
  • Reviewing and amending risk assessments and method statements in relation to changing project requirements in conjunction with Project Manager
  • Gaining a detailed knowledge of the system to be installed together with a thorough understanding of the processes relevant to installation and commissioning
  • Identifying and providing solutions to issues that arise
  • Maintaining project scheduled and organising site specific tasks to meet project deadlines
  • Liaising with third party contractors to ensure all works are completed to scheduled and all equipment if fit for purpose
  • Designing and conducting tests with technical team to confirm product performance
  • Liaising with the service team to ensure familiarisation with the system and layout

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with previous experience of installing and commissioning networked products coupled with the willingness and ability to work and stay away from home on a regular basis.

Required

  • Excellent electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge and experience
  • Good working knowledge of networking and PC based networked control systems
  • Strong fault finding and problem solving skills
  • Self motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • Good communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels

Other skills that would be advantageous

  • Understanding of wireless communication systems
  • Understanding of CCTV systems
  • Experience of working within the parking industry

Professional qualifications

  • HNC/HND in communications, electrical, electronics or electrical engineering
  • IT Networking
  • Project Management

Personal

  • Professional in approach to work and appearance
  • Happy working in an outside environment and able to work at height
  • Full driving license with the ability to travel and stay away overnight frequently
  • Right to work in the UK
