Public Affairs Advisor (Groenlo, NL)

Public Affairs Advisor (Groenlo, NL)

Nedap is a major global player in the field of RFID technology, where we supply both hardware and software. RFID technology uses freely usable radio frequencies, and these frequencies are a scarce commodity. The more frequency bands available, the better we can make the technology work. In addition, there are also other technologies that compete for the same scarce space. The distribution of the available frequency space and the restrictions and possibilities associated with the use of these spectra are determined in international consultation and standardization organisations. As Nedap, we want to be aware of this decision-making and, where possible, influence it. In any case, it is important that these organizations are well aware of how the frequencies are used today, and what the consequences of decisions are.

As a Public Affairs advisor, you are the link between the standardization organizations and the internal organization. You ensure that Nedap colleagues are well informed about what is going on in international standards. They can provide input on possible improvements and indicate the risks associated with a change. You build an international network of people with the same role – both within RFID technology and competing technologies.

You are able to understand (to a certain level) what conversations are about, and to translate this into possible opportunities or threats for Nedap propositions.

Concrete examples of tasks are:

  • You participate in consultations within, among others, ETSI, CEPT, RAIN RFID, FCC and RED-CA. These are both video consultations and face to face on location;
  • You build an (informal) network of international specialists in the same field;
  • You are well aware of the wishes of Nedap to improve our technologies;
  • You are aware of possible threats and challenges of our frequency space, and you can appreciate them.

Your team

The function interfaces with all development departments within Nedap that are involved in these technologies. That is why you are supported by the technical experts of the various development departments. You also maintain close contact with the relevant product managers and other stakeholders.

Our offer

Naturally, we offer excellent primary and secondary conditions. You are responsible for your own working hours and holidays. Nobody keeps track of this, we rely on your own responsibility. In addition, we provide you with the means to fulfill your responsibilities. It is also well arranged financially here. In addition to your salary and holiday pay, Nedap has a 13th month, a profit distribution and the option of shares. We also have a very attractive pension scheme. But above all, we invest in your development! Nedap has no funds for your development. In addition to our extensive introduction program and personal development process, we are happy to look at your potential with you.

Required experiences and skills

You are technically versed and communicatively strong. You enjoy building an international network and you can handle cultural differences well. You can listen well, but at the same time speak convincingly. You feel good with a somewhat freer role, where the tasks are not very clearly defined. You can build bridges between people with different opinions.

In addition, you recognize yourself in the following:

  • A completed HBO or/and WO education, preferably in a technical direction;
  • Good command of the English language;
  • You have experience working in an international environment;
  • You have technical affinity (preferably knowledge of (wireless) radio systems.
